The Presentation for the Anniversary Trophy that took place last weekend will be held after the conclusion of the Sean McDermott Final on Sunday. The event that was renamed after our Hon.Secretary Jim Byrne earlier this year will see members of Jim's family attend and present the Plate to the winners. The results will be announced in the next day or two, we hope as many of the winners will be in attendence. 

The DCB have confirmed that Erins Isle will indeed be one of the 4 venues for the Dublin GRIP on October 20th and 21st. There was some concern whether they could host the competition in 2018 but the DCB having recently visited the course have given it the green light to host it along with Lucan, Glenville & RGSC. Entry forms will up on club this week and closing date for entries is October 03rd. 

 

The Leinster Matchplay qualifying rounds will take place in Glenville on Sunday. There was some confusion re the venue but Glenville were allocated this qualifying at the start of the season. we have 4 players in action here. George McGreal and Andy Lowe in the Seniors and Charlie Egan and Lennon Blake in the inters. Best of luck to all 4. The Full draw is available here

This weekend is our last big singles event of the regular season and it will be the oldest event on the club calendar, the Anniversary Trophy. In 2018 this takes on special significance as the committee decided earlier in the year to rename it after our Hon. Secretary and Founder Member Jim Byrne who passed away in January. Jim had close association with this competition and was involved in the Plate that the winner now receives.

The Competition similar to Fr.Pat Trophy and Officers Prize sees your best 36 holes nett over your 1st six rounds count towards the overall and then we have 36 Nett, 36 Gross and 18 Nett prizes in all grades. The event tees off at 10am on Friday and play continues till dusk and then our regular competition hours on Saturday and Sunday (10am - 3PM) and (9am - 3PM). We hope to see a good crowd out supporting this competition and we wish all the players the best of luck.
