Old County Pitch & Putt Club

Ladies and Gentlemen we started off the New Year today, Monday 02 January,  with a Bank Holiday Scramble. Thank you to the Grounds volunteers who prepared the winter course over the weekend. 

24 Players took to the course this morning and the results are as follows:

18 Nett: Ann McFarlane, Tom Lynam and Tony Byrne (h/c -10.33)   33.66

18 Gross: Liam Comerford, Frank Gallagher and Stephen Power   41

Well done to most of the winners and thank you to everyone who played. Great to see everyone back playing again.

Next weekend is Singles Sweepstake and the start of the Winter leagues. As at today there are 30 names down to play. Everyone can still enter up to 11.45 am next Sunday, 08 January, by putting your name down on the entry sheet up on the Competitions Board in the club house. Cost of Entry is €5. Teams and Groups will be drawn Sunday afternoon and the League will run until early March.

Competition Times for next weekend are:

Friday 10.00 a.m. (first card) to 2p.m. (last card)

Saturday 10.am to 2 p.m.

Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ladies and Gentlemen its beginning to look a lot like Christmas  (even to an old Grinch like me). Perry Como and Mickey Bubbles have a lot to answer for!

Anyways that is our 2022 Pitch and Putt Season all wrapped up for Christmas. The course is closed now until Bank Holiday Monday January 2^nd 2023.

We will start back on Monday January 2^nd 2023 with a Scramble to clear our heads after the festivities and get started on the Winter Greens. The Scramble is open to Adults and Juveniles to enter (€3 for adults free for juvenile members). If you can get there for 10.00 am we will try and get started as quicky after that as possible, shot gun start over 18 holes.

Then the following weekend the Winter Leagues Start. There is an entry sheet up on the Competitions Board in the clubhouse so if you can get your name down on that early in January (closing date for entries will be 11.45 a.m. Sunday 08 January 2023, ahhhh Elvis Presleys birthday – well its one for the money two for the show three to get ready now go cat go|||) No excuses get your name down on the sheet and get rocking in 2023.

Ladies and gentlemen I am once again the bearer of bad news.  Unfortunately Saturday Night (17th December 2022) get together is cancelled.   Circumstances have intervened to prevent Saturday Night from going ahead.  If someone will be good enough to let Andy Ryan know it would be great. He was so looking forward to a little boogey.  Anyways such is life. Try have a good weekend everyone.
